​Caste system paintings from the 18th century classified racial mixing (mestizaje) in Mexico during Spanish colonization. The Reefer Madness era of the 1930s promoted strong anti-Mexican and African-American sentiments in the United States.

These historical instances of projected false identities - conflated by people in power, were an inspiration for the abstraction of imagery I wanted to present.  It can be seen from the inside, inviting viewers to step in and be physically enveloped by the cube.
